My story

I started painting at the age of sixteen. I never had a hobby or interest growing up. All my siblings had projects they were working on. When I was younger, my father had told me, “get a hobby.” He said he would support anything I chose. So, I picked painting and he supported me ever since (though it was not the cheapest hobby to pick at age sixteen). He was always so eager to hear about my next project and would not stop talking about my work with everyone he met. My father was my inspiration for painting. He will always be my driving force in art. In 2020, my father passed away and every time I paint I think of him and where I have come because of my father.

I think of my art as my soul. Each painting I make, I give a little bit of my soul in it. I give something that reminds me of a memory, from childhood and beyond. Each painting feels symbolic to who I am and what I have felt and seen. My paintings tell not just my stories, but stories of their own. Inspired from my wild imagination as a child but to a different level. Where now others can see, all that I have felt.
